Don't have bellows for your barbecue?
It's true that it's very practical for restarting the embers or the fire.
But no need to buy one!
Here is a trick to make a bellows with plastic bottles.
Yes, yes plastic bottles! You don't believe me?
All you need are two large bottles. Watch:
1. Take two large plastic bottles. One slightly wider than the other.
2. Cut the bottom of one of the two bottles with a cutter.
3. On the other bottle, sand the feet of the bottle so it can fit into the other easily.
4. Insert this bottle into the one that has no bottom left.
5. Remove the cap from the bottomless bottle and keep it on the other.
And there you have it, you have made a barbecue bellows with 2 plastic bottles :-)
To use it, just push and pull the bottle. This will force a lot of air over the embers.
It is useful for the barbecue but it can also help out for camping and the chimney fire in winter.
Be aware that cylindrical bottles work best for this trick.
Another great way to recycle plastic bottles that you never know what to do with!
It also works by cutting the bottoms of the 2 bottles like in this video:
