A month ago, while traveling, my purse was stolen. Unfortunately for me, I was wearing contact lenses and my glasses, neatly stored in my bag, disappeared with the rest!
My last prescription dated back more than 3 years and I could not have one redone at an optician with the guarantee of a partial refund of the total price. It's crazy!
Yes, but when you are short-sighted, very short-sighted, living without glasses is a nightmare! I then called all the opticians in my provincial town and none could take me on an emergency appointment! Did I have to wait a year to be able to regain my sight? No, luckily I found the solution.
Many British sites offer the possibility of buying glasses for your eyesight for a minimum of 10€. Some options are free (anti-reflective, anti-UV...), others pay but always reasonably (progressive, bifocal, tinted lenses...).
1. I go to one of these sites (in English):Zennioptical, GlassesShop, CheapGlasses123, or GlassesFrames&Lenses.
2. I choose my frame according to criteria of price, shape, style, color or size.
3. I place an order indicating my expected corrections.
4. I'm patiently waiting for the postman! The glasses arrive in less than 10 days.
5. Upon receipt, I put on my new glasses. I haven't been disappointed yet. At that price, I've already offered myself 3 pairs (for less than 60€!).
Good news all the same prescriptions from ophthalmologists will soon have a validity of 5 years. You'll have to really resent having an expired prescription. I recently learned that our attending physician could also write a prescription, but this remains due to his goodwill and the trust he can have with you.
