Do you think movie posters are too expensive? I found a way to get them for free! As a good cinephile, you can put them up in your room without buying them.
How to do it?
One Tuesday, while wandering down the street aimlessly and aimlessly, I passed the small Apollo neighborhood cinema in Pontault-Combault. I walked in like this, and started talking with the only guy in the room. It must have been 10 p.m.
He was changing the movie posters. My walls being far too white for my taste, I asked him if I could take these old posters that he was going to throw away.
There he handed me a huge poster of The Housemaid , and explained to me that most of the time they destroy obsolete posters. However, since I sympathized with him, he gave it to me with a big smile as a bonus!
So if you are there at the right time, all you have to do is ask and help yourself! My big, empty, moody wall got colored by this great poster of The Housemaid.
Little tricks
Afterwards, I tried in big cinemas like the UGC des halles, but they kindly explained to me that normally, they are not allowed to give out these posters. From now on, I systematically turn to small cinemas, neighborhood cinemas, or arthouse cinemas.
Most of the time they are quite pleasant. I only show a little interest in the seventh art, and their programming. In addition, it's the festival of cinema! So take advantage of it, the managers are even more open to discussion.
In addition, having sympathized with the owner of my small neighborhood cinema, I am entitled to a nice poster from time to time and to stimulating discussions! He also told me that he is changing their schedule on Wednesdays, and to pick up the posters you have to be there on Tuesdays around 10 or 11 p.m. (that's where they throw out the obsolete posters).
That said, I have already left empty-handed several times, this technique is not infallible. But it doesn't cost theaters anything to give you those posters and a bit of their time, so they're usually nice to me.

There are posters almost everywhere and a little at all prices. For small ones it starts at 5€, and large formats at least 15€ (like the one I was given, which you can see here) How do you like it?
