Your iPhone headphones are broken? Don't want to buy it again? You are quite right !
Here is my trick to get new ones for 0 €.
I hate the iPhone. Ok that's not true (I'm an Apple Addict) but I really hate the Apple headphones that come with it. Why?
Because they have a lifespan of less than 2 months . After this time, the sound deteriorates so much that I have trouble knowing if I'm listening to Michael Jackson or Goldman!
Apparently I'm far from the only one because some of my friends also very often complain that they have no sound in one of the earbuds.
As a result, the more frugal continue to listen to the sounds of saucepans while the others spend €30 every 2 months to buy new ones...
I was in the latter category a few months ago, before I asked the Apple seller a simple question:“Are Apple headphones guaranteed? ».
Answer:"Yes, of course, they are guaranteed 1 year like your iPhone ". Miracle! I would never have thought that such fragile accessories could be guaranteed for 1 year. And I don't think I'm the only one!
What does this mean concretely? Let's see the 2 scenarios that may interest you:
1. Did you buy an iPhone bare or directly from a carrier? You can exchange the headphones sold with as many times as you want for 1 year in the store in question.
2. Have you bought (or probably repurchased) Apple headphones in a store or on the Internet? You can exchange them for free for 1 year in the store in question .
I've already changed my headphones 3 times in 6 months without paying €1 ! Twice at Fnac and once in the Apple Store at the Louvre in Paris. At both stores, I had no problem exchanging my faulty headphones for free. Nice, right?
The 2 must-have things you need to trade in your iPhone headphones for free are:
1. The sales receipt for the headphones to prove your purchase. It seems normal but it is better to know it before leaving home.
2. The box of your Apple headphones . Why ? Because the barcode is indicated on it. By the way, be careful when you open the box for the first time not to tear off this precious barcode.
Apple sells its basic white headphones for €29. We agree, it's a scam for an accessory that only lasts a maximum of 2 months in daily use...
Last year I spent €180 by buying headphones about every 2 months (and yes, I can't live without music). This year I have already saved €90 with this trick.
And if my new headphones deteriorate as fast as the previous ones (which I have no doubt about), it will be €180 in savings in a year! Pretty good, right?
Are your headphones still under warranty? Are you already running to get them swapped for free? Leave me a comment to let me know how the exchange went.
