Drives allow you to shop from your computer and then go pick them up in store. Attracted by the concept, I decided to test Auchan Drive to judge for myself if it's a good or a bad idea!
For the past few weeks, the race has continued. Between overtime, traffic jams to go to work and my in-laws who have landed at home for a fortnight, I no longer have a minute to myself. So stick with shopping after 45 minutes of traffic jams to get to the smallest supermarket, no thanks!
However, you have to eat well. So I put aside all the knowledge passed on by my dad ("shopping on the internet is not good, it kills jobs and it creates unemployment"), and I decided to place an order everything I needed on Auchan Drive.
Facing the screen, I am first asked to create my personal account, with my Whaou card number! (well, yes, I still want to take advantage of the benefits of the store's loyalty card!) and my delivery address.
I can then tackle the command itself. The products are classified by department and a tab is dedicated to promotions. A search bar allows me to directly type the name or brand of the product sought. It goes pretty fast, and the prices are clearly displayed , with details of special offers and promotions of the week (one purchased =one free, 10% credited to the card, etc).
The next day, head to the Auchan car park, where the terminals await Internet users. I give my order number and an Auchan employee (ah, I'm reassured, they still need manpower!) comes and puts my groceries in my trunk. Too bad he doesn't come to my house to put them away in my cupboards. :-) But I'm enjoying the fact that I haven't wasted an extra hour on the shelves and at the checkout!
Small flat, all the same, on the impossibility of choosing vegetables or meat . It was a real problem for me... and I didn't take everything I wanted for that reason!
As for the expiry dates, which worried me a little, I am reassured, they did not give me products with a deadline, as I feared. So, I think I'll come back this way as soon as my fridge is empty and I need to do my shopping without wasting too much time.
Have you already tested the Drive? Addicted or hostile, give me your opinion in comments.
In the end, I have for 82.35 € of race. My card is credited with €6.50, as if I had been in the store, and I found a discount code of €8 for €80 of purchase.
Or 10% additional savings compared to what it would have cost me in store. And here, unlike some other brands, no processing fees for the order.
In the end, if I do the total calculation, that means that if I manage this way all year, I will save €416 per year on my shopping budget!
The prices displayed are essentially the same as on site. In any case, nothing seemed prohibitive to me. And with the Drive, I saved delivery costs , which are usually around €10.
In short, even if I am a little hostile to the principle, I admit that I found advantages in it!
