A friend who loves family barbecues gave me a tip to stop buying charcoal. Super practical and obviously very economical.
The trick is very simple because you just have to replace the charcoal with wine bottle corks .
Yes yes you read that right.
Wine bottle stoppers are made of cork and allow you to barbecue even when you have run out of charcoal.
The cork burns very well and you get a nice flare up quickly and easily.
I've seen it with my own eyes and I can tell you it works as well as charcoal .

Luckily, my friend didn't become an alcoholic! He also shared with me his second trick to accumulate corks easily.
His solution is to stock up throughout the year! Since barbecues are quite rare in the snow, it is during winter that my buddy is stocking up on corks.
And if he hasn't opened enough bottles, he doesn't hesitate to ask his friends for more. This way, as soon as summer arrives, he is totally serene and avoids buying charcoal at nearly 25 euros for 10 kg...
So the next time you open a bottle with friends, don't throw the cap away and think about the charcoal you'll save.
